Review of “Pharmaceutical, Biological and Chemical Patents” published in GRUR

Clarissa Regler, German Patent Attorney and Head of the IP Team Chemistry / Biotechnology at Winter, Brandl – Partnerschaft mbB, is pleased to share that her review of the handbook “Pharmaceutical, Biological and Chemical Patents” by Dr. Marco Stief, Prof. Dr. Maximilian Haedicke and Dr. Annelie Wünsche has been published in GRUR International, the Journal of European and International IP Law.

The handbook provides a comprehensive overview of German pharmaceutical, biological and chemical patent law. It presents German case law in a structured and accessible way, making an important body of jurisprudence more readily available to an international readership.

In particular, the book covers the requirements for a valid patent, including patentable subject matter, novelty and inventive step, as well as patent infringement and compulsory licensing. It is therefore a valuable source of information for IP professionals, academics and anyone working at the intersection of patent law, pharmacy, biotechnology and chemistry.
